The Best Lip Oil I’ve Found

The Best Lip Oil I’ve Found

For the last year I have been on my quest for a new favorite lip oil. Etude House used to have a lip oil which I’m assuming has been discontinued as I can’t find it for purchase anymore. That one was the perfect lip oil for me. I don’t care about the shade or tint of the lip oil so much as there’s no stickyness or the gloopyness when the oil dries down. For the Sephora fall sale last year I tried the Dior lip oil, a fan favorite of many makeup youtubers. And while it’s probably a good lip gloss, I would not consider it a lip oil. It’s much thicker and doesn’t dry down naturally. So you end with that ring around your lips as you go about your day. So for the spring sale, I decided to try the Merit Shade Slick Gelée Sheer Tinted Lip Oil and I am happy to report that it’s my new favorite lip oil.

Merit Shade Slick Gelee Sheer Tinted Lip Oil Mini Review

I first tried the shade Mapleton, just to see how the formula was. It was so good that I immediately made another Sephora order and bought the other three shades. The four shades all have different tints that do show up on the lips, but from what I’ve seen they all have the same formula. They go on the way my Etude House lip oils did, an oil that goes on glossy but not sticky. And as it dries down it sinks into your lips that moisturizes and doesn’t just sit on top. I recommend it to anyone that constantly has dry lips like me, and doesn’t like so much gloss that you’re hair is always sticking to your lips.

I usually do a neutral minimal look when I’m just wearing Merit lip oils as the tint isn’t very pronounced. It’s basically what I would use for a “no makeup” makeup look. So I chose the Cookie Chips palette from Etude House. Etude House usually releases their collections with cute themes that are food or vibe centered. Cookie Chips is a 9 pan palette with lighter neutral browns on the warm side. For blush I used Jouer Cosmetics Blush & Bloom Cheek + Lip Duo in Cote De Provence. It’s a dual ended cream blush with shimmer shades of coral and berry. You can sheer it out on your cheek and it leaves a highlight like glow. This perfume from Replica is a new one I picked up during the spring Sephora sale too. It’s called On A Date, and it has notes of grape and rose and described as a warm floral.

Also if you like the look of Etude House palettes, they recently released two new collections just this month that I did buy. One is the LUVISTRUE 9 pan palette that are shades of lilac, and Retro Street which is also a 9 pan palette with a mix of warm neutrals with pops of coral. You can also find other Etude House makeup and skincare products on YESSTYLE.
